Mt. Tapyas is the second tallest mountain in Palawan. It is also one of the most dominant land features around the town of Coron in Busuanga Island. That’s why Mt. Tapyas is a popular viewpoint for tourists and locals alike. To get that magnificent view overlooking Coron island, you have to take exactly 721 steps going up as the trail is accessed by a steep stairway.
How to get here? Hailing from the Busuanga airport, you can take a van shuttle to the town proper of Coron. From Malvar Street, the base of Mt. Tapyas is just a walk away. You should be able to spot an Iglesia ni Cristo church nearby. There are plenty of signs along the way to guide you or you can also ask directions from a nice local.

Experience the Magic of Twin Lagoon

One of the most popular sites on the island, the Twin Lagoon is a sight for sore eyes. It a crowd favorite because of its clear, pristine water and beautiful limestone cliffs. This is where seawater meets freshwater.
There is plenty of space in the lagoon for swimming, kayaking, and diving. You will need to join a group tour or book a private boat to reach the lagoon. Either way, it is best to plan ahead.

Often referred to as the cleanest lake in the country, Lake Kayangan must be a part of any Coron itinerary. The magnificent view of the lake is made up of steep limestone cliffs. It was also given the alternative name of “Blue Lagoon” because it resembles the lake in the movie of the same name.

The Maquinit Springs is said to be one of the last few saltwater hot springs in the world. Just a 30-minute tricycle ride from the town proper of Coron, the Maquinit springs is definitely a must-visit when in the island.
